My full name is Emma Kaye Carruthers (yes, pronounced like ‘k’), and I am a part time student and full time dreamer. I’m 5”2, live in coastal Victoria and am the devoted mother to a rascal-cat named Luna. According to my friends, I’m both a ‘small blonde demon queen’ and the personification of Ross yelling ‘I’m fine’ while drinking margaritas – take that as you will.
I created this blog to promote awareness of invisible illnesses. In the last few years, I have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia Syndrome, General Chronic Pain Syndrome, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, Postural Orthostatic Tachdychardia Syndrome, Anxiety and Depression. It’s a real list, and not one I like to share.
My aim for this blog is to give someone, anyone, the resources and information that I wish I’d had during my journey. All I’ve wanted for the last few years was to goo back to living a normal life – to read Vogue articles and connect with them, to wear pants without pain and find makeup that doesn’t react with my now super-sensitive skin.
I went the long way around, and I’ve micromanaged myself into a place that I’m living a relatively normal life. I’m not promoting a cure – I don’t have that for you, I’m sorry – but I hope to provide some resources and knowledge in a positive setting.
